Chills ran through Anna as she considered the concept that her bishop and other members of her community had hidden this fact from her. “I cannot believe this,” she murmured. She glanced upward, to beseech God for answers. “This is simply not believable...”
Ezra Fisher has known Anna and her family for years, and has even worked with Hiram on occasion. However, like everyone else in their community, he knows that the deceased was a hard man to understand, often lazy and usually neglectful of his promises. When Dathan Yotter goes out of his way to make everyone suspect Anna, he wonders at the man’s motives.
